Bringing industrial design and fashion design together to devise the smartest way to travel
The Shell project was a huge challenge: to achieve what all backpack brands strive for but rarely achieve. On the one hand, to save space, and to do so in moments as different as a trip or a day out of the office. On the other, to improve the user experience compared to existing products on the market.
PROCESS
Designing the interior of the backpack to enhance the user experience during travel
The day-to-day running of the project was based on continuous collaboration. Our team of industrial designers, fashion designers and engineers worked in constant contact with Tropicfeel and its users. This approach was essential to ensure that the design proposal met all market and user requirements.
RESULT
A campaign launched on Kickstarter that raised €2M for the Shell backpack.
With a disruptive design, Shell allows users to carry everything they need for a day away from home while packing enough clothes for a two-week trip and saving up to 20% space. With all these features, the product launch on Kickstarter reached a fundraising figure of 2 million euros.
