Long-term strategy with design as the company's transforming axis

Our challenge was to accompany Comas, a leading cutlery manufacturer in Spain, in the process of expanding its brand through a strategic design project that included research, strategy, branding and product design.  



360º design project that consolidated Comas' leadership in the Horeca sector.

From market research to the design of new products, we carry out a 360º design project: We research the market, detect opportunities, define and deploy a new brand architecture and create our own cutlery designs.

Our objective: to accompany the brand in the definition of long-term strategies.

Comas is looking for a partner to guide it in the long term, providing vision in the determination of design strategies and brand reinforcement. Our challenge was to design a growth strategy in which design would be the transforming axis of the company. To do this, the first objective was to detect opportunities and niches where to leverage this growth, to then be able to design and deploy a new brand architecture, and to create our own cutlery designs.  

Expanding a company requires designing a brand architecture that covers all market niches without cannibalising new brands.

A project that involved the work of all the Lúcid teams. We organised brand foundation workshops, qualitative interviews with stakeholders in the Horeca sector and its environment to detect service problems and understand what the priorities of the work plan should be. We created a brand architecture (Comas, Culter and Lacasa), with their respective graphic identities, and deployed them through an omnichannel strategy. At the same time, we transformed the product portfolios, creating new designs that have been the basis and pillar of the company's evolution, becoming an example of design quality, creativity and its own identity, recognised with numerous international product design awards.
