Rethinking space tourism through design
The main challenge of the project was to conceptualize and develop both the capsule and the overall experience for Halo Space, a company aiming to democratize space tourism. Throughout the project, we had to adapt to evolving and highly specific requirements—most notably, a sudden increase in passenger capacity. Close collaboration and alignment between designers and engineers were essential at every stage.
PROCESS
Designing within the complexity of aerospace engineering
The project was structured in two phases. In the first phase, we defined the travel concept, the initial capsule design, the visual language, and Halo Space’s first public website. In the second phase, we designed the full interior for the initial prototype and addressed new requirements, including increasing the capsule’s capacity from seven passengers to eight passengers plus a pilot.
RESULT
An interior optimized for passenger comfort and safety
The final design successfully integrated the new capacity requirements without compromising passenger comfort or visibility. The result is a welcoming interior, conceived to foster a sense of calm and reassurance throughout the journey. A black interior finish was chosen to reduce interior lighting caused by solar exposure and to maximize visual clarity of the views. Movable seats were also designed, creating a small central aisle that allows greater freedom of movement and increased capacity. Each passenger has a personal table and iPad to stay connected with family during the flight, reinforcing the emotional dimension of the experience.

Mastering a new domain from scratch: We quickly immersed ourselves in the complex world of aerospace and space tourism to deliver a solid, safe, and confidently designed project, fully compliant with technical and regulatory standards.

First website launch: We designed the first version of the official website and produced all renders and visual assets to communicate the experience.

Adaptation to new technical requirements: We reconfigured the interior to increase capacity from seven to eight passengers plus a pilot without altering the existing structure.

Emotions and experience: We conceived a user experience that strengthens the emotional connection of the journey.

Halo Flight brings together design, technology, and human sensitivity in a highly demanding environment. Through a flexible and collaborative process, we created a spaceflight experience that is both safe and emotionally meaningful, offering a unique way to see Earth like never before.
