Creatives for the Future is Born

Creatives for the Future emerges to place sustainability at the center of the creative industry and its clients

A group of agencies, communication consultancies, and freelancers from various regions of Spain have joined forces to create the initiative Creatives for the Future, a platform that aims to transform the creative industry and position people and the planet at the center of decision-making.

With this initiative, the creative industry seeks to become a powerful agent of change towards sustainability, with a dual objective: transforming creative agencies and promoting sustainable actions among their clients, the companies.

Born within the branding agency Firma and led by Chacho Puebla, Jesús Revuelta, Lucas Romero, Lúcid, Mayúscula, Multiplica, Nico Ordozgoiti, Nutcreatives, and Runroom, the initiative brings together a large number of agencies committed to internal transformation, becoming change agents, and promoting sustainable actions among their clients.

Chacho Puebla, a member of the action committee of 'Creatives for the Future,' explains:

"We are experts in communication and persuasion; we have a key responsibility to plant seeds of awareness among companies, to stimulate organizational, individual, and systemic changes, and to shift the narrative around sustainability."

The platform began to take shape a year ago, in 2019, within the framework of the #ClimateStrike and the major sustainable awareness movements promoted by Greta Thunberg.

Today, it launches with a call to all creative professionals in the country to join the initiative and help amplify the movement.

Making sustainability highly attractive is one of the fundamental pillars of this new platform

Creatives for the Future bases its activity on three main areas of action:

Internal transformation

Providing the creative industry with tools and knowledge for its own transformation towards sustainability: achieving zero-waste offices, aiming for sustainability certifications such as B Corp or Climate Neutral, and encouraging employee participation in impactful actions.

2. Raising awareness within the areas of influence of the creative sector

Using the sector's innate talent and creativity to educate, spread, and encourage sustainability: incorporating sustainability into all client briefs, raising awareness among company executives, and spreading the message through talks and events.

3. Making sustainability incredibly appealing

Creatives for the Future aims to stop portraying sustainability through a catastrophic lens and instead present it as a unique opportunity to enhance our presence on the planet, to become conscious consumers and businesses, and to work towards overcoming this great collective challenge. All of this is communicated positively to convince skeptics and achieve massive shifts in consciousness.

Any agency, consultancy, design studio, or freelance creative who wants to be part of this initiative can do so through the registration form.
